Tools for Effective Prayer
“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint… because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. Luke 18:1,5
Life’s unexpected difficulties and disappointments can be discouraging when dealt with the wrong hand of life. We are often discouraged by the tide the ocean of life sometimes blows in our direction. But, change can be made through prayer. In Something Happens after Prayer, author Pastor Ade Oyeyemi discusses how prayer should be an integral part of every Christian’s practice.
Using a host of Biblical references and examples, Oyeyemi demonstrates that prayer works for those who need forgiveness, for those who need deliverance, and for those who need healing, wisdom, or mercy. He tells how there is no better way to respond to the storms of life than through prayer. Each chapter addresses a spirit or life topic and offers a selection of appropriate prayers to send to God.
Something Happens after Prayer encourages believers to turn to prayer when faith is floundering and the oppression of Satan knocks on the door when temptations weigh heavy and bad things are happening all around, when we become weak in the face of worry, when marriage comes under attack, and when health is threatened. Great things happen after prayer.
The idea of “always praying” may sound impossible to you depending on your understanding and experience with prayer. You may ask, “how is it possible to always pray and be able to attend to other matters at the same time?
Depending on how old you are, you have noticed that life is a battle and you must win. This battle is constant with many twists, turns, and dips that can throw you off at a moment’s notice. One day you are up and winning and one day you are dragging along, but the power of God comes to us through AGGRESSIVE AND DIRECTED prayers to empower us and give us strength.
These prayers are best utilized when vocalized out loud with great projection, charging your soul, and confounding your enemy. However, the God that we serve knows our every thought even before we speak. In fact, we do not have to speak at all but simply speak in our minds, God still hears and answers us.
This is a special blessing when preparing to take an exam, standing in a crowd, or in a quiet atmosphere and you need the power of God to show up for you!
THE TIMES WE ARE CURRENTLY LIVING IN
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, vs. 3-5: “… Unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” 2 Timothy 3; 1-5 (NKJV):
YOU WILL WIN IF YOU DO NOT GIVE UP!

PERSISTENT PRAYERS
Powerful prayers that refuse to give up or to back down regardless of what is happening, regardless of how things may appear, and NEVER GIVES UP!
One of the things that Jesus wants us to know from Luke chapter 18; we cannot give up on our convictions, destiny, and purpose in life no matter how the enemy opposes us! We understand that His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts, so there are times when we have to convince God to be concerned about what concerns us.
In this parable, the unjust judge did not want to avenge the woman, but he reasoned that she is persistent and is not going to stop coming to him and decided to stand up for her. Jesus says, “And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cries day and night unto him, though he bears long with them?”

With over a half-century studying and teaching the Word of God, and seeing many people come to know the joy of the life in Christ, I’ve learned this: The Word of God is a seed being sown. As you wet and nurture the seed it grows bigger and deeper and the longer you go into it, some of the richer things you find. BOJ Ministries is about Jesus and biblical belief, and those who are receiving something formative in their lives by the work of the Holy Spirit recognize that. Our goal is touch people’s life through personal touch. Your support to continue reaching out and getting lives transformed would be a blessing to us. Thank you for your friendship.
